Executive Summary

Chin Beng has more than 20 years of experience in audit and advisory services as well as chief regulatory role.  He started his auditing career as an external auditor in a Big Four firm and moved on to key internal audit roles in large multinationals.

Prior to joining BDO Risk Advisory Services Division, Chin Beng oversaw the Public Accountancy Sector Division in Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority of Singapore (ACRA). As the Chief Inspector, his key responsibilities included performing practice reviews of audits carried out by public accountants, and developing strategy, regulations and policy to support ACRA’s oversight of the public accountancy profession, as well as external engagement with other audit regulators.  He also assisted in the revision of the Guidebook for Audit Committees in Singapore issued in August 2014.

As a Partner of Risk Advisory Services at BDO Singapore, Chin Beng has led various projects in internal audit, compliance review, fraud investigations and enterprise risk management, in addition to pre-IPO internal controls reviews of local and foreign companies aspiring to list on Singapore Exchange (SGX) or Catalist.
