BDO Singapore Volunteer at Project Dignity (Dignity Kitchen)

SINGAPORE - On 30 June 2023, BDO Singapore's Corporate Advisory Team spent meaningful time and effort with the good people of Project Dignity (Dignity Kitchen) in their community work. The team learned more about the organisation's purpose to the community and social good, took a crash course on basic sign language, prepared dishes for their beneficiaries, Rojak and butter cookies, assisted in packing bento meals for the seniors and distributed meals to seniors and the needy residents living nearby. They even hosted tea and sing-alongs with the seniors. The great takeaways for the team from this collaboration have been extraordinary.

Project Dignity is a social enterprise that focuses on training the disabled and the disadvantaged to work in the food and beverage industry, with the mission to build and return Dignity to these individuals through vocation with passion. It runs the hawker centre and training school, Dignity Kitchen, as a training and development platform. Dignity Kitchen also provides free meals to seniors and needy residents in nursing homes and nearby residents. Project Dignity also manages Dignity Learn - an inclusive training centre, Dignity Mama - retail book stores selling up-cycled, unwanted books and Dignity Outreach - offering corporates meaningful team-building programs with impact.

Heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Dignity Kitchen for welcoming us with open arms and making this initiative a resounding success and a meaningful one.
